What sets my instant film Polaroid photography apart is my incorporation of digital manipulation, scanning, and enlarging my Polaroids to gallery-sized prints. By blending the medium of instant photography with digital techniques, I create a hybrid art form that bridges the tactile and the technological.
After digitally enhancing my images, I print them on my Polaroid Lab printer, merging the timeless charm of Polaroid with the creative possibilities of digital editing. This fusion celebrates both the nostalgia of instant film and the innovation of contemporary photography, making my work a distinctive expression within the realm of Polaroid art.
What further sets my work apart is how I make each piece truly tangible—cutting, splicing, collaging, and manipulating the physical Polaroids themselves. I experiment with the emulsion, surface, and chemistry, incorporating materials like watercolor, bleach, salt, thread, and gold foil. Through destruction, reconstruction, and mixed media layering, my Polaroid pieces become textural, one-of-a-kind artifacts that embrace imperfection, transformation, and the physicality of process.
